PowerShift Asia is a regional finance campaign leadership and incubation program for leaders climate, environmental and social justice campaigners who are ready to launch or strengthen campaigns that influence the financial institutions shaping Asia’s energy future. Bringing together campaigners from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Japan and South Korea, the program connects people working at the point of impact with those working closer to the sources of finance. PowerShift Asia is not a stand-alone training. It is a multi-month program combining an intensive residential Campaign Lab in Bangkok with campaign development, mentoring and coaching, a regional Community of Practice and ongoing learning. Participants will work on real campaigns, applying finance campaigning tools and strategies to shift finance away from fossil fuels and accelerate a just energy transition.

Hosted by AktivAsia and co-planned alongside South Korean alumni of AktivAsia’s flagship programs, the initiative brings together activists and organizers across the Korean climate and energy movements to build a strong, collaborative community of practice. Combining AktivAsia's regional organizing framework with the ground-level expertise of local alumni, this immersive retreat provides a dedicated space away from daily routines for focused reflection and hands-on learning. Over five days, participants analyze power dynamics and forces resisting change, design robust campaign strategies, and craft action tactics—walking away with practical organizing tools and an interconnected peer network equipped to launch winning climate campaigns.

BELANTARA (Beraksi untuk Kaltara) is a five-day residential foundational training programme co-organised by AktivAsia and Enter Nusantara, designed for young people from North Kalimantan (Kalimantan Utara). Held at Rainforest Kingdom Farm in Tarakan, the programme equips youth with critical thinking, campaign strategy, and environmental advocacy skills to stand up for the rights of affected communities — particularly those impacted by extractive industries in the Tanah Kuning area. BELANTARA 2025 brought together 25 young participants from across Kaltara, including Tarakan, Nunukan, Malinau, Bulungan, and Sebatik, representing frontline communities, students, and grassroots activists.

KONEKSI is partnering with AktivAsia to implement the Gender Equity Leadership Program for KONEKSI’s knowledge partners based in Indonesia, GEDSI Networks, and Indonesian government stakeholders. This is a six-month, intensive life-changing leadership journey that begins with an immersive in-person training on 14–16 April 2026. It goes beyond a short course or workshop. Over six months, participants will engage in rigorous learning, reflection, and practice, strengthening their research and analysis, leadership capabilities, and strategic organizing skills through a feminist and gender equity lens. The program is designed to transform how participants understand power, lead movements, and build collective solutions rooted in justice, care and solidarity.

TOT BHI (Training of Trainers for Bengkel Hijrah Iklim) is a 3-day residential facilitator preparation programme held from 17–19 January 2025 at Omah Lor, Turi, Yogyakarta. Co-organised by AktivAsia, Purpose, Majelis Tarjih Muhammadiyah, GreenFaith, and Enter Nusantara, the ToT prepares 8 selected facilitators to deliver the full Bengkel Hijrah Iklim 3.0 programme. Through live session run-throughs, facilitation theory, and structured coaching, participants are certified to facilitate BHI sessions on climate, faith, media literacy, and community organising.

Belantara is a five-day training programme to strengthen the foundation of campaigning and community organising. This program introduces basic toolkits for creating campaign plans, developing digital and communication strategies, and also building an organising strategy to explore more creative movements.On Belantara, we also introduce ways to appreciate our work as activists on the frontline. Many Indonesian fellow activists often feel overwhelmed and burned out, facing the hard truth of reality from the government or the community they advocate for. This programme aims to strengthen activists' campaign capacity in Indonesia, from planning to execution, using toolkits and frameworks introduced by AktivAsia. This training is also used for us to share learnings and experiences from different areas and sectors where they work, what works, and what the challenges they face, so they can figure out the problems they face in each area.

NEXT X KSN: SEKAR 2025 is a participatory critical education training co-organised by AktivAsia's NEXT programme and Konfederasi Serikat Nasional (KSN), held in October 2025 in Jakarta. The 3-day residential programme brings together 20 workers and union members to explore structural alternatives to wage struggle — specifically collective consumption planning and worker economic independence. Through the "From Wage Illusion to Collective Economic Strength" curriculum, participants build concrete pilot project plans to launch collective buying cooperatives within their respective unions. ⚒️ SEKAR is for workers and union members ready to explore economic power beyond the wage struggle.
